Charlie's corner

  Charlie

And the oscar goes to...

Who cares? Do you? With the war in the Middle East and winter still hanging around the corner here in the states, watching a bunch of rich movie stars compliment each other didn't seem right or interesting.

They make an obscene amount of money pretending to be other people and get famous doing it. Sign me up!

I can't lie to you. I did watch the last hour of the show and without Steve Martin hosting and U2 playing; it was a little boring. You would think the winners would do a better job in their speeches, given the time they have to prepare for it. Winning the Oscar gives you a chance to express your thoughts to millions of people around the world. What do you say?

Something brilliant and inspiration that will touch the heart of a eleven year old girl in Chile or read off a list of names that 99% of the audience don't care about?

Oh my God! This is amazing. I can't believe this is happening. I told myself I wasn't going to cry. Sorry. So sorry. I'm gonna cry. Okay. Okay. Breathe, Charlie, breathe. Go to your happy place. I am there. I want to thank my agent Morris Weinstein, my manager Jack Friedman, my lawyer Fred Eberhardt, my stylist Julie, oh there're so many people I want to thank. I know I'm forgetting someone. The cast and crew, without you, there would be no movie. The writer and director, you guys are my muse. Don't start the music. Stop! I might not get another chance to say this, wait!?

Yes. The next time you're about to step up to the podium and touch the hearts of millions, think about that question.

Updates?

There are two more days to this self-imposed hell called New Hampshire. I almost lost my mind. Wait a minute, would I even know I lost my mind if I really did lost my mind?

If you're crazy, do you know you're crazy? So I could be crazy right now and think I'm going crazy, when I'm already there? All right?

The script, Above Paradise, has gone out to the producer at MGM, a literary manager, and a production company that produces thrillers. No word from any of them yet. Remember the story about Superman from the last column? I'm embracing his spirit, the crazy bastard.

Three months out of the year is already gone. How have your year been? Are you getting the most out of it? Is everything going as planned? Or are you flowing in the air like a feather; with or without a cause?

Yeah, I could be writing to fill space but some of these questions are good.

Where do you go when you're blue? Who do you talk to?

Until next time. Take care.
