Hey folks! How are you all? Summer is on its way and the Matrix Reloaded just opened. What
else can you ask for?
Since we last visited, I've been on a couple of auditions and got a job serving tables.
Auditions are great because it's the step before you get the jobs. I love auditions. Let me
audition all day, everyday and I'll be happy.
Now maybe it's because none of the casting directors know my face but I'm not getting the
auditions. I've been submitting myself and the manager has been submitting me and still no
auditions. Two auditions in two weeks suck.
To top it off, the amount of competition out there for Asian males aren't that great. If
there were One thousand white actors going for a white male role, there would be probably
only about a hundred Asian males going for an Asian role. The funny thing about auditions
is you see all of your clones; all the guys you will be competing against are there.
How do I know this? Well, the management company I've been interning for has moved to
another office. In this production office, they're producing a horror movie and right now
they are casting for it. For some reason, the casting directors (there're two of them) are
in the office. So I see all the headshots that come in and all the actors auditioning for
the roles. The pile for the white leads is like 4 feet high and the pile for the one Asian
lead is like two inches high.
Why am I not auditioning for this role? Don't know. The management company didn't submit me
for this one. I wish I could ask them why, but that would be tacky. So one-step short of
begging, I smile and say hi every time I step in the office.
Serving
For those of you that wait tables, I give you mad props. Serving food is one of the worst
jobs in the world. What is worst? Probably the guy cleaning the toilets or the guy I saw
in China sweeping the highways with a big broom.
Those jobs are bad but at least the toilet doesn't order you around. People treat you like
slaves when you're serving them. Get this now! My food is cold! I need another drink! And
if you do a good job slaving for them, they tip you. Serving is begging. I need a new job.
This serving job has already made me bitter.
What other job can you get that pays you right away and have short hours? I can be a male
escort. I heard they pay 50 dollars an hour. That's not too bad. You work ten hours a week
and that's 500 bucks. That's not even counting the sex. Hmmm...
Matrix Reloaded
A bunch of you probably saw the movie already, so I won't repeat myself. The best thing
about the movie is not the special effects, story, acting, or the sets. The best thing about
the Matrix Reloaded is that it's mostly minorities in the movie. This movie will probably
go down as one of the highest grossing flicks and there are tons of Asians and
African-Americans. You gotta love that!
