Synopsis
"A biography of a Hong Kong musical genius."
At the age of 11, KJ won the Best Pianist price and went to Czech to perform with a professional orchestra. Touching on
subjects such as the meaning of life, God and the artistic process, the director's 6-year-conversations with KJ reveal how a
young man inspires by his music teacher, Nancy Loo and how he conflicts with his peers and parents. KJ is not about the
victory of a genius, but how he learns to be a "human being".

About the Director
Cheung King-wai is the scriptwriter of Ann Hui's Night and Fog, the script won the Best Story Price
at HAF. With the financial support from CNEX, Cheung made All's Right with the World and KJ in
two years, which both are selected for HKIFF. KJ will have a theatrical release in Broadway Cinematheque
in the mid-July. For the Hong Kong movie industry where documentary is scarce, Cheung is a miracle.
Special thanks: CNEX
