As David Bordwell writes in his book "Planet Hong Kong", " Hong Kong Cinema is renowned as the Eastern Hollywood. With a movie-addicted population of more than 6 millions people, it is one of the few film markets on earth that has not been colonized by Hollywood. It has a cinema with its own asethetics, genres, and stars, and its box-office top ten are always domestic productions".

Beyond Hong Kong, the Eastern Hollywood, Japan and Korea are the two largest film markets in East Asia, especially in the past few years, more and more high quality productions are coming out from these areas. In this section, we hope to review as many Japanese and Korean films as we can. We will cover both old and new films. The objective is to provide a more comprehensive view of Asian Cinema to our visitors.
