Kou Shibasaki started her career at 14 when her talent was discovered by a star agent. She has worked in many TV shows and commercials. In 2000, she broke into the film industry. Her excellent performance in the controversial Battle Royale has brought her fame not only in Japan but all over East Asia. Later, Go! has further stabilized her position in the industry.
