As a successful stage actor, Choi Min-Sik barely acted in any films in the early 90s. It was not until in 1997 that he finally broke into the film industry, with an impressive role in No. 3. In 1999, his terrorist role in Shiri has brought him fame and many film awards. Followed by that was Happy End and Failan, both films were welcome by audience. Choi Min-sik has gradually become a super star in Korea.

Recently he has finished Chihwaseon, in which he plays the role of a painter.
