Before she became an actress, Jeon Ji-Hyun was a popular commercial artist. She has also starred in many TV sitcom as well. In 1999, her performance in an electronic commercial has made her a popular figure in Korea.

Il Mare and My Sassy Girl are the two films that made her the most popular idol/actress in Korea and even all over East Asia. Right now, she is scheduled to work in a horror film which will come out in 2003.
