Disc review(s)
| Picture: | (30/30) - The digitally remastered picture is superb, it is just like a brand new print!
| Sound: | (25/30) - Nice remastered work.
| Subtitles: | (18/20) - The extras (interviews and audio commentary) are not subtitled.
| Extras: | (8/10) - Very comprehensive collection of special features, yet the interviews are little too brief. Another problem is the lack of subtitles for the interviews and the audio commentary as stated above. if you don't speak English, you may not be able to enjoy any of them.
| Film: | (10/10) - The quality of the print is consistent, there is no significant drop of quality at any transition.
| Grade: | (91/100) - A

| Remarks: | What I like most about this disc is probably the digitally remastered picture. The quality is so unbelievably good that it is even better than many new DVDs made in 2003. The biggest drawback is the lack of subtitles for the extra materials. This
set of disc is supposed to be released in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia, in which a large portion of the target audience is native Chinese. I am not sure why the audio commentary and the interviews are done almost entirely in English only. Does IVL/Celestial Pictures think Chinese audience don't know how to appreciate
audio commentary and interviews? |
