| Picture: | (29/30) - A very high quality transfer here, I could not see any problems really throughout the running time of the film and with Peter Pau's great cinematography, having this disc presented so well made it look even better, a true gift this DVD is.
| Sound: | (27/30) - A good 5.1 mix here with the highly interesting soundtrack consisting of Brazilian tunes and instrumentals is spread well through the speakers and there is the occasional lapse in quality but otherwise is near perfection.
| Subtitles: | (20/20) - Easily the best subtitles to date from a HK disc, about 1 or 2 errors in total throughout the duration make for a pleasurable viewing, if only all DVDs were like this.
| Extras: | (6/10) - A very informative set of Star's Files for Kelly Chen, Stephen Fung, Shu Qi, Eric Tsang, Nicholas Tse and Sam Lee. The trailers also contain one or two scenes not seen in the film.
| Film: | (10/10) - No Cuts.
| Grade: | (92/100) - A-/A
| Remarks: | A very good DVD for a very deep and thoroughly interesting film, the only let down is the extras as I feel that this film is more deserving of a making of than many others, but you do not get many extras on HK discs. A highly recommended DVD and a highly recommended film, please pick this up. Also make sure you DO NOT read the synopsis on the reverse of the DVD case before viewing. |
