| Remarks: | While most of my experience with mainland DVDs were negative, this one did actually offer a moderate surprise. First of all,
the aspect ratio listed on the dvd cover is wrong, it is not 4:3 but anamorphic widescreen, and second, unlike a lot of mainland dvd that only contains burnt-in subtitles, this disc does carry
removable English and Simplified Chinese subs. The picture quality is also much better than expected. And most importantly, there is no annoying popup advertisement at all, which is a common
practice of mainland DVD.
As far as I know, a R1 version of this film was released not long ago, if I didn't guess wrong, this mainland version, which only features an English interactive menu, should be a direct copy of that version, therefore
its quality is more or less guaranteed. |
